The New Frontier casino-hotel was imploded this morning at 2:30 am after a booming fireworks display. The 16-story hotel tower was felled with over 1,000 pounds of explosives . It took 18 seconds for the building to be reduced to a four story high pile of concrete, steel and glass.

What makes this implosion a little sad is that 29 years ago, Tim and I spent our honeymoon here. We have been back several times through the years and have watched the slow decline of the building. Not too many more old timer casinos left. If you haven't been here in a while, I'm sure the strip will look completely different to you.
