Make your own reed diffuser

Reed diffusers are an elegant way to spread aroma throughout a room, but thier steep price from $40 - $80 in many stores can keep many people from purchasing them. In the September issue of Good Housekeeping it gives instructions on how to make a diffuser much cheaper. Fill a small clear glass vase or bottle with a bath oil that's powerfully fragrant. Or, you can go to The Bath Shop and pick up your own essence oil. Snip off the ends of ordinary grill skewers and insert (flip them over whenever you want to refresh the intensity).

If you don't feel very crafty, Target has come out with their own version of reed diffusers. For only 12.99 you get a fragrance such as Vanilla bean, Honeysuckle or Lavender Field, a small glass bottle and a couple of bamboo reeds.

Makes nice Christmas presents.
