The Cupcakery

This afternoon Tim and I headed to The Cupcakery. It is cute little cupcake store not far from where we live. We were looking for something different for dessert and thought we would try this place out.

The Cupcakery is a little shop located in Henderson not far from Green Valley Ranch Resort. It was started by a 25 year old woman who quit her job at the Golden Nugget to try something different. The first year she sold 275,000 cupcakes. As the name would imply, they serve cupcakes and that's it. At any given time they offer a dozen or more varieties, the Ganache being the favorite. It is vanilla cupcake stuffed with a rich chocolate truffle center topped with vanilla and chocolate buttercream frosting. This is what I ordered. Tim ordered the Chocolate Passion, rich chocolate cake topped with the ultimate chocolate frosting. This is what the description says...

Other flavors include the Boston Dream which is a Boston cream pie done in cupcake form with yellow cake, Bavarian cream, and chocolate ganache icing; Bugsy is their carrot cake with cream cheese frosting; Grasshopper is a chocolate cake topped with chocolate mint buttercream; the Southern Belle is basically a red velvet cake in cup form; the Good Morning is sort of a cinnamon roll disguised as a cupcake… the list goes on and on through mocha and peanut butter and coconut and chocolate and more chocolate… I think I need to sit down.

Each cupcake costs 2.50 which seems a little expensive. You could save money and buy a dozen for $25, but what would you do with a dozen cupcakes? The cupcakes look good. I'll have to let you know how they taste and if they're worth the money.

NOPE - Don't bother visiting this place. The cupcakes look good but way too expensive for what you get. I would rather go to Layers Bakery (in Henderson). A blog will be done on this store in the near future.

Glad to see you're still watching the sugar intake.
